The Black Women’s Educational Alliance will host their biennial conference in November, 2018 and the theme is Education on the Global Stage: The Socio-Political Effects on Education. The purpose of the BWEA Convention is to “empower, expand and enrich African American Women with skills and knowledge that identifies with the issues of education.”
Dr. Shawn Blue will present a talk entitled, Healing from our Relationships: How we experience grief in our relationships. Utilizing research and clinical experience from her book, Grief and Romantic Relationship Dissolution (Lexington Books), Dr. Blue will discuss the impact of loss and grief relevant to our interpersonal relationships.
Dr. Shawn Blue will provide a historical perspective of racism in healthcare and its current impact on healthcare in various communities with a seminar called Racism in Healthcare at a Health Literacy Conference: Strategies for Serving Diverse Populations.
Jefferson Hospital Center for Urban Health Jeff PEERS and Sugga Mamas Diabetes Prevention and Management WISE Outreach presents Overcoming the Superwoman Syndrome.
Guest Speaker, Dr. Shawn Blue, will discuss the daily challenges that women face in multiple differing roles and will provided stress management techniques to assist in managing the stress that arises from these roles.

Women: It's Time to Heal is a two day conference with the goal of increasing the physical and emotional health of women. I will be discussing women and mental health on November 17th.
